Khadijah James is the leader of the four women Maxine Shaw, Regine Hunter, and her cousin Synclaire James at the Brooklyn brownstone alongside Overton and Kyle. Throughout the show, her most common used phrase is “Khadijah don’t need ya.”
Khadijah is the owner of her own magazine, "Flavor", with her cousin Synclaire James. Out of work, Khadijah is the owner of a 2 floor apartment that most events take place in.
Personality[]
Khadijah's personality actually varies multiple times through the show. Most of the time, she is the one to set order around the house, and most serious one. In the episode "Who's The Boss?", Khadijah is sick and has a very child-like personality for the entirety of the episode. In most episodes where Terrence is present, Khadijah loses her serious personality and becomes more bubbly and soft.

- There is an episode where someone asks Khadijah "You look like Queen Latifah!" Which breaks the 4th wall, considering that Khadijah James is acted by Queen Latifah herself.
- In her room, Khadijah has a poster for Queen Latifah's Black Reign.
- In the episode "Just Friends?", Terrence (commonly referred to as Scooter), was one of Khadijah's childhood friends for a long time.
- In that episode, they both realize the love they both had for each other and from this point their relationship starts.
- She has a tense status with her half-sister Stephanie, often believing the latter was their father's favorite.
- However, it was revealed by the latter that Khadijah is actually the daughter that he is most proud of. This caused her to reconsider calling him to catch up.
